For those of you who are new here, I am Shai, a therapist and former university athlete, a dog mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and many more roles that I play in my life. I have been a therapist for many years, and I specialize working with athletes in sport and athletes transitioning out of sport, anxiety management, trauma processing and healing, breaking out of the perfectionism, shame and burn out cycle, re-creating your identity through life transitions, and developing a positive relationship with your body and food intake. That moment is heart breaking. It absolutely broke my heart as an athlete. It’s the end to a career you spent your life working towards. So many emotions flood over you, and so many losses come forward.

Hurt.
